Now generally available: Regional resiliency for Azure Virtual Desktop
Regional host pools are now GA in East US 2 and Central US. Host pool metadata is stored in a database in the region you choose rather than a shared geography, so a regional outage stays contained. More regions and migration tooling for existing host pools are on the way. This lands the same week AVD (classic) reached retirement on September 30th.
What’s new in Windows 365: September 2026 recap
Windows 365 turns five! The September recap covers TWAIN scanner redirection, user-initiated provisioning for Windows 365 Reserve, RDP connectivity improvements and assigning multiple Cloud PC configurations to one user. In the week of September 28th, bulk deprovisioning of Cloud PCs in grace period went GA and Windows 11 26H2 gallery images arrived.
An IT pro’s guide to Windows 11, version 26H2
Windows 11 26H2 is generally available, and 26H2 images are now in Azure Marketplace for AVD and in the Windows 365 gallery.
